Two strangers: a young, conflicted but devout Muslim refugee from Syria named Nizar and his night out with a quixotic Irishman, Eric. Along the way they will confront issues of trust, abandonment, tragedy, and privilege. The consequences of their adventure will haunt both men for long after the night is over.
Born in Sierra Leone, West Africa, Adetokumboh M’Cormack has been in the international entertainment industry for over 20 years. He is a graduate of the prestigious Conservatory of Theatre Arts and Film at SUNY Purchase College where he studied Acting. As an Actor he has starred in major roles in films like the Blockbuster Battle: Los Angeles, Captain America: Winter Soldier and Blood Diamond. His extensive television credits include appearances in TV shows like LOST and NCIS and has voiced characters like Nelson Mandela in True TV’s Adam Ruins Everything series amongst many others.
Wanting to use media to make more of an impact, M’Cormack produced the End Ebola Now campaign during the ebola crisis im West Africa. This included filming commercials to raise awareness about the disease and provided vital information on how to combat and ultimately eradicate it. He also launched the Shake Ebola Off campaign which featured Kevin Bacon and raised funds that went towards medical care for Ebola victims.
M’Cormack’s previous directing credits include the comedy Web series Me + 1, starring Seal Team’s Neil Brown Jr. and he also directed and produced the critically acclaimed music vido October 96 which took home Best Music Video at the Columbus Black International Film Festival.
Having come from Sierra Leone; a country that suffered from a 10 year civil war, M’Cormack felt compelled to tell a story about the effects of war and decided to write, produce and direct a fictitious story based on the Syrian conflict and how it affected a young man, resulting in him fleeing to America as a refugee to avoid persecution. The resulting story is the moving and powerful award winning short film, IRISH GOODBYE. M'Cormack will next be helming a feature film produced by Rich Street Productions about a young Congolese ex-combant suffering from PTSD who comes to Ohio to start a new life.
